Honey Roasted Pears (Air Fryer or Oven)

Pears don’t get enough love! These Honey Roasted Pears are a simple way to enough the nutritious and delicious fall fruit. Just a few ingredients take the pears to the next level of flavor. Roast them in the oven or the air fryer for an easy side dish kids will love. They also make a great topping for festive salads.

Kids in the Kitchen:

  • Wash: Kids can help by rinsing the pears until cool water before you slice them. (The slicing might be a little too tricky for younger kids just learning to use a knife. However, older kids can help cut the pears.)
  • Measure and mix: Kids can help place the sliced pears in a large bowl. Then they can measure the oil and drizzle it over the top. They can then do the same thing with the salt and honey. Stir everything together or even let them toss it all up with their hands. (I find that’s the best way to get everything evenly distributed.)
  • Place on pan: Kids can line up the coated pears slices on a pan or in the air fryer, depending on which one you are using.

Subs and Tips for Making Honey Roasted Pears:

  • Pears: You need firm pears for this recipe. If they are too ripe, they will be mushy and not roast well. Bartlett is my favorite variety of pear for this recipe. I wouldn’t use brown skin pears like Bosc.
  • Air fryer: There are many different air fryers out there on the market. However,  I’m completely in love with my Cosori TurboBlaze Air Fryer. It cooks faster and and it’s easier to use than any other air fryer I’ve tried. • Salad: One of my favorite ways to enjoy these roasted pears is on a fall or festive salad. Which usually includes mixed greens, the roasted pears, dried cranberries, toasted nuts, and some kind of cheese like crumbled goat cheese or feta. Toss everything together with a balsamic vinaigrette…yum!
