Fun Easter Snack Ideas!

A nutritious and fun snack to make with kids of any age!
Recipe: 1/2 frozen banana, 1 cup frozen strawberries, 1/4-1/2 frozen cauliflower rice, 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt or dairy-free yogurt, 1/4 cup milk (any kind), 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, optional honey or maple syrup to sweeten to taste. Use a high-speed blender to blend until smooth. Spread the thick smoothie in a bowl and add toppings. See the full video on Instagram HERE.
Easter Egg Toasts
I make this simple snack in my kids cooking classes every year. All you need is sliced bread, cream cheese, and fruit. I like to make a honey-vanilla cream cheese by adding a drizzle of honey and a tiny splash of vanilla extract to whipped cream cheese. However, you can use plain cream cheese, peanut butter, or any nut/seed butter. Cut the sliced bread with an egg-shaped cookie cutter or cut the egg shape with clean kitchen scissors. Spread the cream cheese mixture on the bread. Have kids help cut up the fruit with a kid-safe knife then top the toast with the colorful fruit. Yum!
Egg Carton Snack Platter
Use plastic eggs or a simply whatever egg carton you have as a fun way to display snacks. Fill the tray with fruits, veggies (I like to do shredded carrots because they look like grass), and whatever other little snacks you have in the pantry and fridge. I also used my Crunchy Roasted Peas recipe in this snack tray for a fun veggie to mix things up.
Sweet Brunch + Breakfast
A healthy snack for toddlers and kids that’s easy to make ahead! Carrot Apple Snack Cake is lightly sweetened with maple syrup, full of whole grains, and packed with grated carrot. If your kiddos like muffins, they will love this wholesome cake. Enjoy a square with breakfast or as a snack any time of day. Add in hemp seeds or chopped nuts for a little boost in nutrients. I like some raisins in there, but you can easily leave them out.
Carrot Cake Breakfast Cupcakes
Cupcakes for breakfast? Yes, please! These Carrot Cake Breakfast Cupcakes look like dessert but are wholesome enough to eat for breakfast (or any time of day). They are low in added sugar, whole grain, and mixed up in one bowl. Add a quick, 3-ingredient cream cheese frosting (and maybe a few sprinkles) to make these a special treat kids and adults will love.
My boys love that Starbucks lemon loaf cake, so I was on a mission to create a healthier version I could make at home. This is still a dessert recipe, but definitely a lot lower in sugar than the original. I added in some whole wheat flour for some extra fiber and sweetened the loaf with honey. A little yogurt keeps the cake super moist and tender. Plus, it’s super easy to make–no mixer needed! This would be the perfect dessert for a brunch or just as an afternoon treat. Happy to say that my lemon loaf lovers gave this healthier cake two thumbs up!
Strawberry Breakfast Cookies (Vegan and Whole Grain)
This easy, one-bowl recipe is nutritious enough for breakfast but so delicious you’ll want them all day. Strawberry Breakfast Cookies combine sweet strawberries and whole grain oats in a handheld cookie form. The healthy cookies also happen to be vegan, nut-free, and can easily be made gluten-free too.
An easy, colorful breakfast! Because FUN food is for ANY day!
Recipe below:
See the full video on Instagram HERE.
- Make 3 to 4 cups of your favorite pancake mix (or make my easy, whole-wheat recipe linked HERE).
- Divide the batter into bowls (I did 6 but you can do less or more)
- Use food coloring to dye the batter. Make the colors bright because they will fade as they bake. (I used this natural dye from Whole Foods but use whatever you kind you like/have.)
- Preheat oven to 400. Line a sheet pan with parchment or grease well with oil.
- Divide the batter colors into different sections or make stripes of color. Up to you! Just don’t over mix or you won’t see the individual colors.
- Take a chopstick or a butter knife and swirl the colors a bit to get a tie dye effect.
- Bake until cooked through, 10 to 12 minutes.
- Cut into squares then serve with maple syrup or whipped cream and sprinkles (spring or Easter-themed if want these pancakes extra festive!)
Not cooking for a crowd? Make 2 cups of batter and make this in a smaller pan like a 9-by-13.

Savory Brunch and Breakfast Easter Recipes for Kids
Bunny Bagel Platter
My family loves having bagels for any holiday brunch. I created this fun and easy platter one year to make brunch extra festive for Easter. Just spread some softened cream cheese in a bowl, add a carrot nose and some black olives for the eyes and mouth. Cut some mini cucumbers length wise for the ears then finish it off with some fresh chives for whiskers. So cute, right?
Tortilla Egg Cups (High Protein + Veggies)
High in protein, portable, and great for meal prep, these Tortilla Egg Cups are a healthy breakfast both kids and adults will love. Customize each baked egg cup with whatever veggies, cheeses, or meats you’d like. Get kids involved and have them make their own flavor combos!
Breakfast Biscuit Bombs (Stuffed Biscuits)
Like homemade hot pockets! Take canned biscuit dough and stuff it with all of your favorite breakfast foods (like scrambled egg, bacon or ham, veggies, and melty cheese)! These Breakfast Biscuit Bombs are like make-ahead breakfast pockets…perfect to heat up before school or take on the go. You can easily customize the filling with whatever your family enjoys, and kids will have a great time helping make their own!
Dessert Easter Recipes for Kids
3-Ingredient Coconut Macaroons (gluten-free and lower sugar)
This coconut cookie is made from only 3 ingredients: unsweetened coconut shreds, an egg white, and honey. You can form the dough into little “nests” to fill with a variety of fruit or candies. They can also be made into little round cookies and sandwiched with fillings or simply drizzled with melted chocolate. These 3-Ingredient Coconut Macaroons are great for any holiday, including Easter and Passover. Plus, they are really fun for kids to help make.
Healthier Monster Cookies (Vegan and Gluten-free)
To make these even spring-ier(!), feel free to use pastel M&Ms or your favorite spring, pastel-themed candy! Perfectly chewy and packed full of goodness, these little cookies are our new favorite healthier treat. They happen to be vegan, gluten-free, and naturally sweetened. Plus, grated carrot adds extra sweetness and moisture to the dough (but you would never know the veggies are in there if I didn’t tell you!). We love these Healthier Monster Cookies topped with fun dye-free chocolate candies. However, you can use chocolate chips on top or just mark the tops with a fork for that classic peanut butter cookie vibe. Don’t forget to get the kids into the kitchen to grate up the carrots and stir the easy, one-bowl dough together.
Easter Candy Cookies
I love using my super easy Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe from my cookbook, Kid Kitchen, as a base for whatever mix-ins we have. When Easter candy is out, my kids and I always make the cookies with crushed Robin’s Egg or Mini Cadbury Eggs. They are so yummy! The cookie recipe is great to make with kids because you don’t need to wait for softened butter or use any mixers. You can see the full recipe video on Instagram HERE.
The Easiest Soft Sugar Cookies
To make these PERFECT for the spring season, simply swap in some Easter or spring-themed sprinkles. So you want to bake up some cookies, but you don’t want all the mess and fuss? This recipe for The Easiest Soft Sugar Cookies is for you! The dough is stirred together in one bowl –no mixer, no chilling, and no rolling involved! It’s the perfect fun and easy cookie to make with kids. The dough also happens to be egg-free, and can easily be dairy-free, vegan, and gluten-free if needed. Roll the dough into colorful sprinkles for a festive, sweet treat that will put a smile on anyone’s face.
Strawberry Frosted Sugar Cookie Bars
Soft, chewy sugar cookie base made in one bowl topped with fluffy strawberry frosting. Easier than most baking recipes, these Strawberry Frosted Sugar Cookie Bars are great to bake with kids. They are also allergy-friendly and easy to make vegan and gluten-free. Freeze dried strawberries make the frosting naturally bright pink and perfect for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion.
